Bio

Katelyn Kimber is a Partner at Norm Law in the Private Funds practice group. Katelyn represents private investment fund managers, primarily working with venture capital, growth equity, and fund of funds sponsors. Her clients have ranged from institutional multibillion-dollar platforms to smaller firms raising early-stage venture funds. She helps fund managers navigate securities law, tax, accounting, and regulatory considerations throughout the fund lifecycle, drawing on deep market knowledge to advise on fund terms and industry trends. Katelyn's experience also includes advising fund sponsors on secondary sales and related liquidation strategies, as well as SEC Marketing Rule and Investment Advisers Act compliance.

Prior to joining Norm Law, Katelyn served as General Counsel and COO at Soma Capital, a registered investment adviser focused primarily on early-stage investments, where she led legal, compliance, fundraising, and strategic initiatives. Before Soma, she was a Partner at Cooley LLP, where she represented private fund managers on the various legal matters that arise through the lifecycle of their firms.
