Stephen Anastasia is a Counsel at Norm Law, where he advises on the intersection of law, regulation, and emerging technology. His practice focuses on technology transactions and commercial agreements, artificial intelligence, intellectual property, data privacy, and cybersecurity. In addition to drafting and negotiating complex commercial transactions, Stephen counsels clients on financial institution regulatory compliance.
Stephen brings a broad technology and regulatory background spanning premier law firms and in-house practice, encompassing technology transactions, mergers and acquisitions, artificial intelligence, banking and insurance regulatory law, blockchain and cryptocurrency, data privacy, and cybersecurity. He has served as lead attorney on complex technology transactions involving developments in AI, and has represented global financial institutions across significant matters including enterprise-wide technology integrations, the adoption and governance of AI systems, and multi-million-dollar M&A and licensing transactions. His counsel pairs transactional execution with a practical command of the domestic and international regulatory frameworks governing banking, insurance, and financial technology.
Before entering the legal profession, Stephen served as a Captain in the United States Army, drawing on the leadership and discipline developed as a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. He deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service.
